The Sweet Success Of Defeat

Hi Everyone!

Hump Daaaaaay, Yeah!  Happy Wednesday loves.

So I put myself on a "no buying new stuff for the house" restriction. With us prepping to downsize and not really knowing when it all is going to happen I didn't want to introduce anything else to the house unsure if we would have the space (or need) to take it with us. I was doing so well you guys....until...

A couple weeks ago I found this watercolor pillow in Marshall's on clearance for $13 and decided it would be the perfect starting point for some fresh seasonal color.  The colors are so perfectly Spring.

After that I've avoided stores like the plague, y'all.  I didn't even want to give myself an excuse to have a moment of weakness.  Well...I failed...miserably.  I mean, honestly, why did the Target Spring Home Sale have to happen right nowwww?  Needless to say there are a few new additions to the family room....and just in time for a spring refresh.

I've been eyeing these poufs for weeks and almost bought one when I first saw them. Even at the regular $69 price tag they were much more affordable than the ones I loved from West Elm, so when I saw them on sale for $48 on Monday I couldn't walk away without one.

I also picked up a new basket for Farrah. That's my fiddle's name, by the way.

It was in the clearance section for $19 down from $40.  I had been waiting for just the right one since I transplanted her into her pot back in the fall and this is definitely it.

If you haven't made it to Target to check out the spring home sale, you muuuust.  There's also a coupon for a $10 gift card when you spend $50 on home décor AND the Cartwheel app has an extra 15% off Threshold toss pillows, decorative baskets, throws, and furniture pieces. Once you pair that with the fact that pretty much everything in the home section is on sale right now, you're sure to find some great deals. You'll thank me later!  Happy shopping:)

So yes, I failed my mission not to shop, but I'm rationalizing it by the fact that I bought everything on sale or clearance and got $10 back! The way I see it, they paid me to shop! #thatsmystory

Have you started spring-ifying your home yet?  Did you grab a pouf this week too?  Until next time....

*This is not a sponsored post, nor is it written on behalf of Target.  I'm just a design-crazed girl with a weakness for the home section who happened to catch a deal and wants to make sure you guys get in on it too:)

  4. I want the Threshold table that looks like your coffee table. Paying for the original is a no-go for me. I have an ikea coffee table still in the box (can't return it) so I keep trying to talk myself out of it but it's hard!

  6. I got that same pillow from Marshalls a few months ago. (Well, two of them actually). I still haven't taken off the tags. I thought they'd be a good alternative to the Designer's Guild orangerie pillow I R E A L L Y want. Not quite convinced yet :) But it looks great in your room!

  9. Love that you named your fiddle! That is hilarious but it's such an appropriate name! I want to name mine now. And yes, I have been trying to steer clear of Target. That sale will be the death of me! I do however love that pouf.

  10. You just described my morning at Target. I saw the words "home sale" and nearly fainted right there! I didn't buy anything ... they had the cutest salt and pepper shakers for like $2. But I didn't get them because I don't 'need' them. Ha! Balderdash. I need it all!! (And I'm going back to Target this evening.)

  15. Love all your finds both at Target and Marshalls. I too am looking for a new home and trying not to buy but it's sooooo hard. I have picked a color scheme of blue and white so I am limiting any new purchases to those 2 colors. Home Goods and Target are my 2 down falls. Love your home, so cozy.

  16. Love those poufs, but I'm not sure where I'd put one. Do your kiddos love it?! I also am avoiding stores because I'll buy something I don't need. At least your puchases are useful. :)
