And Then They Were Black-Front Room Progress

Hi Everyone!!

So remember back a year ago when I divulged  my obsession with dark walls?  Well guess what?  I sorta kinda painted my walls black!!!  And I sorta kinda love them!!!

If ya'll have been with me for a while, you know I've gone back and forth many, many times about what exactly to do with our front/entry room.  My recent revelation about letting go and getting out of my own head helped motivate me to push the envelope a bit with the room.  I also got some really great advice from a dear friend about how I could use the room as well.

A couple weeks ago I gave you guys a little sneak peek into the changes,  but today I'm here to show you guys what's been going on thus far.

The color is Martha Stewart-Fransecsa color matched in a Glidden formula.

I absolutely love it!.  Now black walls are definitely not for everyone, but the are absolutely for me.  I get so excited every time I walk into the room now.  There's still work to be done, but its a great start.  I'm trying to decide what color to paint the inside of the window casings. Hmmm.. I'm thinking something vibrant and fun and totally unexpected.  The room gets a ton of light so the dark walls have not made the space feel cavernous at all.

My little man likes the room too..

I've also put up some Billy bookcases and a hack is in the works! It's good to be making progress.

So what do you think?  Would you ever paint your walls black?  Until next time....

  5. I love it! It's great proof that painting a wall a dark color doesn't have to make things dim and small. Well done!! xo Kristin

    1. Hi Kristin! Exactly! I even like smaller powder rooms done in super dark walls. I think it adds a sense of elegance and drama.
