The Hunt Continues

Hi Everyone!

Happy Humpday loves.  Wow, guys.  Thank you so so much for all the love and support from our Patio Style Challenge reveal.  I was so nervous and anxious going into it, and ya'll sure know how to make a girl feel special.

I want you all to know how much you mean to me, and I'm so honored to be able to share a small piece of your day. I never in a million years could've imagined that something I love so much could be so joyous. I'm so thankful for, and am humbled by all the opportunities that have come my way. Thank you a thousand times.

So as of today we are 7 days away from our house being officially sold! That's absolutely insane!  I haven't even started packing yet.  What can I say, I'm a glutton for punishment! Honestly though we just got word yesterday that things are on track per our original close date.  If you've bought or sold a home ever before, you know how easily things can get pushed back, so we wanted to wait until we knew for sure before committing to an apartment.  Thankfully we were able to find a place that accommodates short term and month to month lease options so we can easily transition into our next house when we find it, without the stress of lease contract limitations.

Because of our current house being in escrow, we slowed down our house hunt a bit.  We didn't want to run into a situation of finding a home we love and having our offer rejected due to the contingency of our house not being sold yet.  It just made sense to get through one hurdle at a time.  That being said we picked up the hunt again yesterday. This little gem had us considering the possibilities long after leaving.

House # 3 aka {Oh, The Possibilities}

Built 1961
1400 sq ft
2bd 1 ba

Picture overload, I know, but this house had so much potential y'all. It was cute from the curb and we were quite surprised by the inside.  We loved the stone fireplace, all the windows, and the general layout.  The listing specified it as a 3 bd 1 ba, but once inside we realized its actually a 2 bd 1 ba with a huge addition which has a "closet" so I'm assuming that's what the listing agent is considering the 3rd bedroom.  While we were pissed about being misled, we soon realized the addition could possibly have bedroom potential. We loved the large backyard as well.  There's plenty of room for a pool and a large covered entertaining area. We are gonna talk to a couple of contractors to get an idea of the cost and scope of transforming the addition to bedrooms. It may be worth it.

Until next time....

  6. Shavonda:

    I really like the house, only thing that would have to go for me would be the wall-to-wall carpeting. Lots of windows and light and the back yard is private and wonderful. Knowing what you can do to a place means it would be a showcase in no time.

  8. I love this one! So much potential but it already has loads of character! I hate it when the listing agents try to get sneaky! Hopefully it can work in your favor though!

  16. I can totally see the potential in this one. I feel like you can get more for your money when there is potential to add or expand. Also love the stone fireplace, and the back room with the wood stove has such a nice feel. Reminds me of similar room in Lauren Leiss's old house. Are there hardwoods under the carpet?
    Good luck with the packing. Just put your head down and do it...and tell yourself that it will all be over soon. :)
