Happy New Year my loves!! Wow... can you believe its 2014! I mean, that number totally blows my mind. I remember growing up as a child thinking about what the world would be like once we "reached the two thousands"! I'm a class of 2000 alumni and the world isn't quite riddled with flying cars as I suspected, but it is quite different from the 80's.
At the start of 2013 I made no ironclad resolutions and had no expectations of the blog. I knew I wanted to focus on blogging more and had a short honey-do home list, but I never imagined in a million years so many great things would come to fruition in the coming months.
Along with switching over to a dot com, changing its design a bit, learning how to actually use my dslr, and being visited by Better Homes and Gardens magazine, the most important thing that happened to the blog this past year was gaining all of you as readers. Your support means the world to me and I developed so many amazing new friendships. Thank you all so much for your encouragement.
Here's a quick recap of some of my favorite posts of the year:
We finished up our budget kitchen revamp
We went bold with black walls
I discovered my love of oil based paint
We created a nice place to relax in the backyard
I got creative with baking cups
I created a bold entryway
I got a little personal with you guys
We revamped our powder room
I painted a coral ceiling....
and a teal front door
I learned a valuable lesson in the kitchen and made a super exciting announcement!
And rounded out my year of furniture revamps with a West Elm inspired coffee table.
This year, yet again, I don't have a "resolution". I do, however, have a goal. In addition to living life with intention, I'm also on a quest to get back to basics and try to live life simply. I don't yet have home goals because we are still contemplating some major things with the house, which goes back to the whole simplify thing.
The one thing I am sure of is I can't wait to see what's in store and I'm so happy to have you along with me on my journey. Happy 2014 my friends! Here's to new adventures. Until next time....
