Happy Friday loves! So I'm placing bets my friends. I have a feeling we are about to see an insurgence of lilac poppin up in the design world everywhere from interiors to fashion and I for one am NOT complaining. Purple just happens to be my favorite color. Of course, you'd never know that since its the one color I haven't used in any space in our home.....YET.
I'm usually drawn to deeper or more vivid tones of purple, but I've been crushin on lilac in a major way lately. I think it may be the perfect choice to accompany the navy/black/grey/mint/coral/red action we've got going on around here. Geesh that's alotta color play! We still haven't even started on our bedroom or the guest bedroom yet so I may use it in one of those spaces.
All I know is today's lilac isn't that of back in the day. Though typically synonymous with nurseries and little girls' rooms, this color can be uber chic, modern and dare I say...sexy.

ReplyDeletePurple is my favorite color too!! [Chartreuse is gaining ground] Would you believe me if I told you I once had a rich purple love-seat? Oh yes I did!! Funny, now that even though I love the color and all its shades, I too haven't used it on our home, lol I love the bedroom the lilac is so serene....:)

ReplyDeleteI love purple too! It gets a bad rap. My painter did not want to paint my bathroom the deep purple color I picked but I still love it! I think lilac is a very pretty purple to mix in with other colors! Its soft and subdued but not boring!
