Craigslist Deals of the Century!

Hi Everyone!

Ok so the title is a smidgen of an overstep, but I really did stumble upon a couple of really awesome finds recently.  First up are these beauties

Yes,  those are a set of 6 absolutely scrumptious vintage bentwood chairs!  I was praying to the CraigsList heavens that no one got to these before I did.  They are wonderful and sturdy and in very good condition. And I'm sorta kinda completely in love with them.  My prayers were heard.

My original intent was to use an Eames style chair in the dining room and go with a look similar to this

But when the universe hands you bentwood on a platter, you take it!  The seller was asking $240 for the set and I was able to get them for $220.  That's $36/chair!  Now, Ive heard of  some folks finding these chairs for $10-$15 a piece, but in my neck of the woods it aint happenin.  I think the seller was generous to budge at all especially considering they came as a set AND because there was a similar posting by another seller for a set of 5 bentwood chairs for $550.  I think I got a really great deal.

They are living happily in their new home now.

The plan is to refresh them with a new look eventually.  I really love the look of them in color.

My next awesome Craigslist find was this little beauty

5 bucks, people! FIVE BUCKS!  I've been crushing on campaign furniture for a long time now and even have a Pinterest board dedicated solely to this style of furniture.  To say I'm happy about it is an understatement.  This little jewel has a little bit of a special story behind it.  It came to me via a recent Craigslist sale of my own.

As you know, I recently started working on the guest room.  If you remember this picture you can see a headboard and footboard that was originally going to go in there.

After deciding to go the twin bed route I no longer needed the headboard and footboard so I posted it on Craigslist and that's when I met Belinda.  Dear, sweet, wonderful Belinda.  She and I hit it off right away when she came to pick up the set.  We started following one another on Pinterest and she became a new reader of AHFOC!  She's a woman after my own heart and is always on the hunt for the next diamond in the rough.

We saved each others' numbers and began texting back and forth with anything we think the other may be interested in.  Last week while visiting my dad, Belinda sent me a text about this little campaign nighstand.  I told her I loved it, but it would probably be gone by time I got back to town.  Not if she could help it! Belinda went and purchased it for me and held it until I got back home!  I can't even explain how much that meant to me.  I now have my very own piece of campaign furniture thanks to the world of blogging, the power of the Internet, and the kindness of a special human being.  Thank you so much Belinda.  I'm so glad to have met you.

You just never know who you're going to meet one day.  I'm so happy to be sharing pieces of my life with all of you through blogging and Instagram.  I feel like I've known some of you my whole life.

So, have any of you found any awesome deals lately?  Do you now have a new partner in crime you've met through CraigsList?  Until next time.....
