Random Shots

Hi Everyone!

Christmas came a wee bit early for me this year!!  Im so super excited that the camera I wanted was wrapped and eagerly waiting for me when I got home from work on Friday night!!  

It was such an amazing surprise because while I HOPED to get it, I wasnt expecting to get it early! Santa, baby...I freakin love you!  

As soon as I got it I started putting some of the tips Id been hoarding to use.  I told myself I would not put my camera on auto.  I wanted to start out in manual mode right from the beginning.  I have a loooooooong way to go before I get the hang of it, but its been fun learning thus far.  I figured I would share with you guys some of the various shots I've taken over the past few days.  These images are uber random so keep that in mind.  I tried to take different shots and different times of day both utilizing natural and artificial lighting.  Don't mind the random piles of laundry and not so perfect backgrounds because Im keepin it 100% real with you guys.  

All of these images were taken with a AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.8G lens.  I played around with aperture, ISO, and shutter speed in each of the pics and none of them have been edited.  Ok guys so here goes...Im ripping the bandage off!

Not too bad for a brand spanking newbie.  Ive got a long way to go, but I look forward to honing in those skills much much more.  It'll be nice to look back at these and see the progress Ive made.  Thanks for letting me share this with you all.

Did Santa come a wee bit early for you as well? Are you just as lost as I am when it comes to figuring out manual mode?  Until next time....
