Decor Obsession: A Natural Approach To Holiday Decor

Hi Everyone!!

Happy December loves!!  I hope everyone had a wonderful, restful Thanksgiving holiday.  Mine was super peaceful.  I totally hibernated in the house and refused to leave for 5 days!  I loved it.

Since its officially after Thanksgiving I can now give my full undivided attention to decking the halls. Usually we pick a new color theme for every year and go wild with tinsel and ornaments and lights, oh my! We've used every color combo from blue and silver, to a rainbow of candy colored hues and I've loved infusing my love of color into our holiday décor.

While browsing Pinterest the other day I came across this image and It has me inspired to go in a bit of a different direction this year.

I absolutely fell in love with the natural beauty of this collection of wreaths. I actually really really love the collection as a decorative element, too! Anyway, I've been thinking of erring on the side of pairing down this year.  Our home is already colorful and stimulating so I'm thinking that sticking with natural elements and maybe one color will help keep things balanced.  Plus, in my neck of the woods it doesn't snow for Christmas. Matter of fact our winters are super temperate and usually never dip below 55 degrees, so surrounding our home with lush greens and natural accents will help me feel a bit more wintry. Even still, I can't guarantee there won't be any neon that makes an appearance somehow!

Here are a few other simple and natural holiday décor ideas

So what's your décor theme this holiday season? Until next time....

  8. Love the natural look...it's so classic and calm. :) This year I'm all about metallics, plaid, B&W stripes and shiny stuff. I just couldn't resist.

  11. I decided to do the same thing, I ended up throwing out a lot of my old Christmas decor and used a lot of natural elements, greenery, pinecones and berries in my design, of course I had to add a little sparkle too! Can't wait to see your home!

  14. Found you via the holiday home tour. You have beautiful home. Reading through the rest of the blog now. Lately I've been pining on natural wreaths too, made my first one the other day our fresh boxwood. Actually I made another mini boxwood wreath and one out of magnolia leaves. Need to take the after pics to post them, hopefully next week.
