Happy Monday my loves! How bout we start the week off with a bit of eye candy, huh!?
So here's a total shocker for ya..Noami and I don't agree on a design element! Wait, you're totally not surprised by that are ya? You shouldn't be. Its pretty much how things go around here. This time is herringbone.
My goodness I love it. Its soooooo beautiful and classic, and very European, and totally me and I'm DETERMINED to have it make its way into our home somehow. I would love herringbone floors, but my sweet Naomi, on the other hand, is not a fan. In all honesty I can't really be all that mad about this one. She really loves chevron and I don't, so I guess we can call it even.
I've been trying FOR MONTHS to get her to see the beauty in them with absolutely no luck until this

Ummm hello gorgeous!! Seriously guys, have you seen Mandy's new floors? They are INSANELY pretty. And here's the kicker: Naomi really likes them too! Apparently in her mind the tiles make all the difference. Wood floors = no go, but tiles somehow "work". If you say so, dear. I don't care how you rationalize it, I'm totally capitalizing on it.
Although I love the pattern on floors, I also love it in tons of other applications too. Check out all this pretty:

Those are doing absolutely nothing to help me get a handle on my throw obsession.
Just so darned pretty.
Hmmmm, we've been wanting to do something with our super plain builder grade fireplace. Maybe I can use it there somehow?
How bout you? Do you like herringbone? Until next time....

PS. Tomorrow I've got an AWESOME giveaway for you guys. You're not gonna want to miss it.

I am in love with that herringbone coffee table and I too have a slight throw obsession! My daughter always pulls me away from them in the store. ;)
ReplyDeleteMandi's projects are all amazing. No surprise here that she could change Naomi's mind ;) Love that black herringbone floor too!
ReplyDeleteI love it! We are doing a marble herringbone backsplash in our kitchen. Can not wait!!!
ReplyDeletethere is a reason herringbone resembles a geometric heart. because i heart it.
ReplyDeleteIt's one of my favorite things ever. I'll pause a movie just to point out beautiful wooden herringbone floors. Oscar never seems as blown away as me though ;p
ReplyDeleteI've always loved herringbone. Really beautiful pics you pulled together to show off the potential of the pattern. Hope you get your pattern on! So here's a question for you ... I've been told to keep a strong horizontal element / line in my kitchen backsplash (to continue the strong horizontal element in my kitchen) ... do you think of herringbone as horizontal, vertical, "neutral", or something else, cause I'm seriously considering a white subway tile in a herringbone pattern and I'd love your thoughts. Robin
ReplyDeleteReally digging that herringbone inside the fireplace. So pretty. And of course, Sarah's table is amazing :)
ReplyDeleteI love the look of herringbone, so classic and pretty! I'm doing a review on a herringbone rug soon, I'm so excited about it!
ReplyDeletelove herringbone too! Kind of like chevrons more classic, traditional sidekick! Great round up of examples! would love to have a wood floor like this!!
