A Few New Additions

Hi Everyone!

Over the last couple days I've added a few things to the mix around the house so I thought id share them with you guys.

I found these side tables at Target on clearance for $9.98 each. I thought they would be great to serve as stools under the entryway console.

These little guys have been floating around the blogosphere for weeks, and Ive seen some great makeovers done with them.  My original thought was to simply paint em, but once I saw them in place I decided I love the neon paired with the striped wall, so Ill be keeping the color and upholstering the tops.  Id love to find a great kilim or suzani inspired fabric for them.  I'm pretty sure every Target has these on clearance now just in case you wanted to grab one for yourself.

I also found a paper for the back of the hall cabinets

Yep, I snagged the dragonflies!  I saw this paper a couple months ago at Marshalls and walked away from it.  Then I saw Kristen's fab laundry room and kicked myself in the rear for that one! Id been on the hunt for it again ever since.  I was so happy when I found it at another Marshalls store over the weekend.  I used double sided tape to install it since I tend to like to update looks fairly often.  This way it'll be easy to switch out with something else.  I've still got my eye out for some marble paper, but for now I love how whimsical and graphic it is.  By the way,  Courtney also used it in her recent laundry room update, too.

I also picked up a snake plant the other day.

I by no means have a green thumb, but I really love to incorporate plants into our home whenever possible.  I heard this little guy is super hardy and pretty much indestructible so I figured it might stand a chance.

Speaking of plants standing a chance, my little fiddle is actually still alive!

Not gonna lie....I'm a little worried about this guy.  I guess technically I should say these guys.  I bought it at Ikea and there were actually two fiddles growing in the same pot.  I just transplanted it out of the nursery container into its permanent pot and I was really contemplating splitting them up.  Then I got scurrd and felt  super guilty as if I was separating twins, so I kept them together. I'm hoping they wont crowd each other out as they grow.

Have you added any new goodies to your home lately?  Until next time...

  1. The dragonflies are perfect for the shelves and I actually love the stools just the way they are. I don't think you need to do anything with them.

  2. Love your new additions. The wall paper is gorgeous. I have my fiddle leaf fig outside while the weather's been nice. It's doing great out there. I guess as the temps drop I'll bring it in. Good luck with yours!!

  10. I agree that the wallpaper is beautiful! I love it very much in the back of your hall cabinets :-) & those stools are so cute too, I agree with you that the neon looks good against the white and black! :-)
as for your little fiddle leaf, glad is doing great, I got mine from IKEA as well and it's growing nicely too, same here, I'm always scared I will ruin it, I make sure it gets enough sun and water only once a week! :-)
