Happy Friday loves! I'm so happy the weekend is here. We are off to the woods for our annual camping trip. I've been looking forward to this all year and I cant wait to unwind rest a bit.
Earlier in this week I found these chairs on Craigslist
The seller listed them with a table as a set, but was willing to sell them to me without it for $35 for the lot! I knew they would be the perfect chairs for the game table. The lines were just what I had been looking for! Here's what the game table corner was looking like before the makeover:
After giving my new found beauties a new life, here were are now
I just love them! I decided to go with black to help ground the space and bring in a bit of depth. I like the idea of using black and white as neutrals amongst all the color and pattern I introduce into our home. I've coveted this fabric from Ikea since I saw it release this year and I thought this would be the perfect space to introduce such a fun, whimsical print.
I really, really wanted to do something a bit different. My dear friend Katrina says it gives the chairs a new life and is glad I didn't go with a stale, "safe" choice. I couldn't agree more!
I love that the chairs are a very classic, elegant design, but I wanted to find a way to "loosen" em up a bit. This fabric helps them not seem so "serious". The cane was damaged on two of the chairs so I just cut it out of them and didn't replace it. I kept the cane in the other two to help give it a more eclectic feel.
You may have noticed the light is different, too. When I went to pick up the fabric I found some colorful shades on clearance and I just couldn't pass them up. I chose the yellow option. I think its another little dose of fun!
This is such a happy space now! Its full of color, pattern, and life. Its such a great compliment to the new office corner and I love that the kids now have a great place to play, read or do homework
I love how everything is coming together! Now if I can just get my hands on a new sofa....
So, have you revamped any furniture lately? Added any unexpected elements to your space? Id love to hear. Have a great weekend my friends. Until next time....

Yay, love! The light is perfect for over the table and you already know how much I love that fabric. It might have to go into my daughters room as curtains. The chairs are amazing!
