80's Swag

Hi Everyone!

Over the weekend I picked up this 80's brass lamp at the Habitat For Humanity ReStore for $12.

Immediately I knew it was perfect to hang over the game table.  After a couple coats of paint it has a new look and is hanging in its new home.

I love the proportions of it over the table, and I'm a sucker for the swagged look, but I'm not 100% sold on its color.  I think I may end up repainting it black.  I was told it absolutely couldn't stay brass or I totally would've done something very similar to Kristin's.

Always a work in progress, right.  On a lighter note, there is one project I'm just finishing up that I'm really excited about.  It was so fun and easy to do, plus its high impact.  I'm excited to share that with you on Friday.

Until next time....

    1. Thanks Julia! It would have been so much better in neon, though;)

    1. Thanks chica! It's actually mint. Apparently it's coming across as white though. :)

  3. I think the lighter color looks great against your dark wall. You could still add some color like Kristin did for an extra pop. I have almost this exact light hanging out in my garage, waiting for a spot!

    1. Thank you!! Maybe ill add a bit of color to the cord. That may do the trick. I hope you're able to find a spot for yours soon.

  7. I think the color looks great! I think if you painted it black it would get lost against your walls. That tablecloth is fab too!

    1. Thanks so much Sarah! You guys are all making me feel much better about my color choice. The "tablecloth" is a fabric sample I got from Ikea. I'm on the hunt for a more permanent solution right now:)
