Happy Friday loves. Is just me or is today seriously the best day of the week!
So many happy changes and new additions are happening in our home lately. It feels so good to get things done. With every project complete, it brings us that much closer to a home we all can love and enjoy. One new addition we need in a big way is a new sofa. We still cant agree on one we like just yet but we are at least in agreement on one detail: we'd like one that's non-neutral.
Just for clarification's sake, my definition of neutral is anything in the white/tan/beige/brown/grey/black range of colors. Nothing against em, we are just looking for something with a little bit of oomph. Its weird because at first we wanted a very light cream/almost white couch to balance out our navy walls, but then things changed. We've begun to bring a lot of white furniture pieces into our space and I'm thinking Id like to break that up a bit. Ordinarily Id look to textiles and accessories, to add in that layer of interest (which I still will, of course) but we think a cool couch might help with that a bit too.
We'd like something affordable with modern, clean lines, that's comfy, and can take a beating from the kids. Shouldn't be too hard, right? WRONG. Oh well....here are some spaces that feature non neutral sofas that are pretty inspiring in my book:
Of course I could never actually afford any of these but a girl can dream, right? What do you guys think? Are you more neutral couch and colorful pillows kinda folks or could you live with a non-neutral beauty? Id love your thoughts?
Until next time...

I'm just playing it safe. I love the colored sofas so much but it was one of my biggest splurges and I know I'm stuck with it for a long time...so cream it was for me. Love that turquoise one up there. And I've really been drawn to navy couches lately.
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day!
I've had few non neutral sofas in my day! I had a purple sofa & sage green one both in chenille fabric....loved them both! They were perfect because at the time I lived in a apt and couldn't paint the walls so bringing in colorful furniture was key!
ReplyDeleteMostly recently we had a tan sofa and this time around going with a grey-ish sofa I like that our neutral sofa will ground the space and I can layer in color and texture with window coverings/accent pieces and pillows lots of pillows! :)
Looking forward to seeing what option you go with!
I love it! I think you can always change you colors around a colored couch. So many colors go together that I am not sure it could ever outdate itself! Your on to something!

I really like the second and third couches. Bold couches are so in right now, and they can make a room. it will be fun to see what you select. xo Kristin
